Nathan uses strong colors and intuition to communicate through his medium.
Though he hasn't been painting professionally for very long, he strives to better his last
effort with each successive piece.  Nathan's work brings his internal fascinations to the
surface in a kind of visual monologue directed back at himself - he feels that through this
looping process of self analysis he will better understand the world around him.

lost - acrylic on plywood (14.5"w by 12"t) - $250

i am lost
easily with you
in the streetlight's constant persuasion
where it doesn't matter
whether or not i wear my
glasses
for i know i need
neither distance nor armor
when in your breath
(soft on my ear)
i hear the ocean's
rush and swell

untitled - acrylic on canvas (20"w by 16"t) - $170

this piece is an early
exploration of texture.
Here I've begun using
the pallette knife and
parts of the brush I
didn't usually use to
create depth and a 3D
quality. It comes in the
frame shown... Shipping
to the contiguous US is
included, and we ship in
two days. We email a
ship date and confirmation.

salut - acrylic on plywood (10"w by 32"t) - $300

the hand is a tool,
a shaper of things.  it
bridges the gap between
the physical and the
spiritual realms,
allowing us to shape the material
of our surroundings
into a representation of our
soul; it allows us a myriad of
opportunities for understanding.

halo - acrylic on plywood (6"w by 22"t) - $125

two phrases

at the top:
all for the seeking of life
without rancor
or queue....

and around the right and left outlines:
casting about in the
quietest places of his soul
he found without
light or shadow
(and lacking silence - and sound)
a place to be...

vessel - acrylic on plywood (10"w by 31"t) - $250

the body (as vessel)
should be treated accordingly:
- we are vulnerable
- we are breakable
- we are mortal
but it's all in our minds...

you may ask me one day,
  to name that constellation or
why it is the trees seem to sway
    counter to the wind's transgression
and i,
neither knowing nor wishing to be possessed of such subtlety
  will look at you,
   green to blue
     and laugh
(not with embarassment or malice)
(not in avoidance or out of humility)
  but at myself
and mine (the greatest of fortunes)
  which has me standing there
    old man with old woman
      looking at the sky

moonrise - acrylic on plywood (24"w by 24"t) - $225

i wanted to paint an image i saw
on a hill in western North Carolina;
the moon rose directly behind a
tree i had seen before... the image
stuck in my head.
